Analisis peran guru dalam menghadapi kendala belajar matematika pada siswa SMP

The teacher is one of the human components who plays a role in planning, organizing, leading, and controlling the class. Teachers help guide students according to various backgrounds, potentials, and abilities possessed, and overcome difficulties that hinder the achievement of learning objectives, because often students have difficulty learning mathematics and experience mistakes in the learning process. This study aims to describe: (a) The location of mathematics learning difficulties of grade VII and VIII students of SMPN 7 Cimahi, (b) The role of teachers in dealing with student learning difficulties. The type and approach in this study is a type of descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The data collection method used is the interview method conducted to mathematics teaching teachers. And from the interview results obtained almost all students have difficulty understanding a material seen from the track record of daily tests and lack of understanding of a Material because of the relationship with other materials, as well as the many sub materi that make it difficult for students to unify their understanding. From this, it is expected that teachers can always provide material to students in accordance with the comprehension abilities possessed by students and emphasize more on mastery of concepts, so that teachers can position their role to overcome student learning difficulties.
