Penerapan pendekatan contextual teaching and learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa SMP pada materi SPLDV

This research is motivated by the low mathematical problem solving ability of junior high school students, while the aim is to examine the improvement of students' abilities in SPLDV material after being treated using a contextual approach. The population of this study was all eighth grade junior high school students in the city of Cimahi with a random sample selected at one school and 21 students were selected. The research method used was classroom action research with research instruments in Cycle I and Cycle II in the form of ability test questions, teacher and student observation sheets, and self-reflection journals. This research was carried out with a procedure consisting of planning, implementing treatment, observing and evaluating, and reflecting. The research data shows that the ability to solve mathematical problems can be improved through a contextual approach.
